Several members of the Andrias Association participated in the Prague conference PTNCE or Polish Society for Human Sciences and evolution at the end of September. In addition to a lot of interesting lectures and posters, we can also write special awards to our account-Martin Hůla placed in the competition for the best student lecture. Congratulations!
This Friday will be performed on the cycle of popularization of the Fridays with the support of the association Andrias Jan Toman. The lecture will discuss the evensing and their role in evolution.
The lecture will take place 12. 7. From 17:00 in Viničné 7. Due to possible reconstructions, the organizers specify the lecture room on the site.
All interested in science are cordially invited!
As in previous years, our members will attend the lecture cycle at the Hrdličkův Muzeum makeover at the Prague Museum night 8. 6. 2019.
Natalie Perkof – it's about man
The fifth exhibition from the cycle of site-specific exhibitions called it's about man. The author is artist Natalie Perkof.
First Aid – "Help Save the Life" project (ground left)
Within the habitat, candidates can try resuscitation, how to solve states of unconsciousness and control respiration and much more. Expert tutors will also be happy to answer any questions that visitors may have.
Back to the future 3 – a cycle of lectures in the classroom photochemistry (ground left)
The band of lectures offers futuristic themes like astrobiology – animals in extreme conditions and in space, future philosophy in the third millennium and treatise on myths about atheism and religion.
Organizer: PokusniKralici.cz, Andrias Z. S., Karel Čapka Centre for the study of values in science and technology
Mgr. Jan Toman: Extremofils Known and unknown (classroom photochemistry, ground left)
Podglacial lakes, inside hot surfaces, acid baths and high doses of radiation. All these extremes are capable of withstanding earthly organisms. But what makes extreme lovers distinguished? And do not even conceal the whole yet undiscovered deep evolutionary lines?
Mgr. Lenka Premium: Fish in orbit (classroom photochemistry, ground left)
We all know Lane, the first dog in orbit. But the animals were more into the universe, the first humanity of the sent organisms crossed the boundaries of space space in 1947. Did you know that there were fish or a very enthusiastic cat among the non-volunteer astronauts?
Mgr. Michaela Košová: New Philosophy of Tretieho thousanders – experimentation of the Philosophical arts (classroom photochemistry, ground floor on the left)
We present the Department of philosophy using the Výskumné Metóda on the map, as rôzne philosophical problems perceive the layover from the public. In particular, we are going to show you the attitude of the Otvára in the lock-up of Myseľ Philosophov, which will be possible.
Mgr. Robin Kopecký: 50 Shades of myths about atheism and religion (classroom photochemistry, ground floor left)
We will introduce research laboratory of evolutionary Biology Prof. Flegra dealing with how supernatural beliefs or their absence affect human life. We will try to rebut the often-mised myths about the origins of these beliefs and influences on our lives.

We would like to pass the deepest compliments to all the supporters of our research who came to the observatory on Saturday and waited in a long line. The enormous interest of us was immensely pleased and greatly overruled by all expectations.
We tested 160 volunteers for toxoplasmosis, 33 children attended causality research and both of our lectures "govern our lives parasites?" I "50 Shades of myths about atheism and religion" were filled to the last free space (180 + 50). We are very sorry for all that we unfortunately have not received, and we promise that next time we will increase our numbers to actually test the whole of Brno!
See you next spring!
Members of our "TOXOTÝMU" will be on this Saturday for the third time to Brno to the Observatory! The event takes place 6. April from 13 to 18 hours (and is free of charge to all). You can test yourself on toxoplasmosis and you will find your Rh factor. For children (6-17 years) we have prepared new research of the moral court, as a reward will receive a new badge with the experimental rabbit.
At 18 o'clock the lecture is followed by Prof. Flegra "Drives our lives parasites?" schedule and details here: https://www.facebook.com/events/262209688045396/
In the last two weeks they performed on a prestigious cycle of popularizačních lectures biological quarters in Viničné with the support of the association Andrias right now two authors from the Laboratory of evolutionary biology.
15th. 11. 2018, Jan evolvability focused on the problem of evolution. Is it a condition of a complex life or an obstacle in a flight? Or perhaps this phenomenon satisfies both conditions? You can also watch the lecture from the record.
22nd. 11. Then Robin Kopecký spoke of autonomous agents with permission to kill. It was not the terminators or other war robots, perhaps the name would imply, but the matter of our current culture is far closer-samořiditelná vehicles and evolutionarily-psychological aspects of their deployment, legal treatment and social perception. You can also watch this lecture from the record.
Our colleague Julie N-Wheels will perform 17. 9. 2018 from 17:30 in the hall H new buildings of the National Museum with a lecture Pluto and beyond: the icy regions of the solar system.
Beyond the orbit of Neptune lies an area of ice bodies called the Kuiper Belt. It includes the dwarf planet Pluto with its moons and many other similar bodies. But there is still no border on the solar system. The Oort cloud, from where the Dlouhoperiodické comets came, still goes on.
How many of them could be captured originally from other star systems? Can we discover larger bodies in these icy dálaváchs, as yet theoretically predicted "ninth planet"–and how to we're them? How Kuiper Belt and Oort Cloud relate to "Interstellar visitors" of the type of Comet Oumuamua, which flew our solar system this year? What the New Horizons probe told us about Pluto, and what can we look forward to in the beginning of January 2019 when passing through the smaller body of the Kuiper belt? These areas are not very explored yet, but more interesting.

As part of our activities we also focus on the education of evolutionary biology and popularization of this field, as well as related topics. He last appeared on Jan. 14. 5. With a lecture on the history of evolutionary thinking, present and future of evolutionary biology at grammar School in Česká Lípa. During the four-hour course, designed mainly for secondary school teachers, he repelled from the first evolutionary ideas to modernism, Darwin, and modern evolutionary synthesis, which still represents the mainstream of evolutionary biology. At the same time, it has shown that many of the non-mainstream evolutionary hypotheses have been increasingly applied in recent years, and with evolution it may not be as simple as it may have seemed a few decades ago. After an excursion to makroevolučním matters, he also touched on the concepts he develops in the framework of the laboratory of Evolutionary Biology at the Department of Philosophy and History of natural Sciences of the Charles University and the interpretation of the past, present and future evolutionary Biology is so round.
